Burn zombies, burn!

A pretty interesting game that I am looking forward to playing on the PS3. The link will say more than I will say so just click on it.

Quicke; Defendable or fast food?

In case you haven’t already guessed by the title, this is all about zombies, and more specifically, I’ll be naming cities and judge them as Defendable or Fast food. Let’s start with…

Leaps of faith and mario-ing. What else could you want?

The first time I heard of Mirror’s Edge was when Floyd showed me the trailer of actual in-game footage. It seemed like an awesome game, the level was inventive, and it was all fast-paced.

To just tell you about the game, Mirror’s Edge is a new and inventive game based on free-running, or parkour to the French crowd that’s reading. Now that would be a slam dunk for the category of untouched games (Assasin’s Creed was the first truly great free-running game, but it is still a fairly untouched subject.) but it is also completely done in first person, and is a fully-immersive game set on the rooftops.

The power of illumination: Closure

I’m going to start off with a short review since I am doing it in-between cooking.

Setting:

Closure is a very interesting game by Tyler Glaiel and Jon Schubbe which is set in a dark realm where light is very scarce. You play as a man, thrown into this world with one unseen objective, and must utilitise orbs of light to get through the many levels of the game. The landscape and art, although somewhat weak at the beggining, turn into one of the game’s finer points towards the end. Sometimes you will just ask yourself “What happened here?”.

Gameplay:

I have been saving up for this because it is fairly improtant to the game; if you can’t see it, then you can’t touch it. Here’s a small example. You are walking along with a orb of light. If you drop the ball and continue walking, once you aren’t walking on illuminated ground any more then you plummet to your death. If you come accross a wall with a light on the other side, you can drop your light and leap through the wall to the other light. It’s all a very simple and spooky effect that really makes you glad that you aren’t him. Otherwise, the game has some pretty interesting puzzles, like makeshift elevators where you have a moving light source move up a wall with you standing above it. When the new wall space is illuminated, you move up with it, a very interesting concept. Sometimes you totally forget out the landscape was actually supposed to look like before the darkness fell because the laws of physics are told to go screw themselves on many occasions.

Story:

Look, I can’t really explain the story without it ruining it’s… well, I was going to say charm but that isn’t really appropriate. All you need to know is that it has one of those endings that are open for interpretation.

I recommend that you play it.

WHOOP! BACK ONLINE, BABY!

I’m sure you all nearly commited suicide in my abscence, but if my friends may quote me;

“I’m now writing a review at least every week. I swear by it.”

I did NOT violate that promise on purpose. I totally forgot what the adress was to get back onto the sign-in screen on my new computer (don’t ask yet, all in another post) but I suddenly remembered and after some difficulty in remembering the PASSWORD I’ve finally got online. Sincere apologies and I will be handing out a snack for all who ask (to a maximum of one per person per day) as long as it is within a week of this post. Hopefully. If everybody asks at once there may be some problems.

I will start writing reviews ASAP

Pacman is taking up a new job.

Dissapointed at living his life on the edge, running away from ghosts to eat small pebbles, Pacman, hoping to impress his crush, gets a job as a plumber. It paid well and there wasn’t a danger of imploding. But one day, in a pipe, he sees a cherry growing out of it, under a mushroom. Unaware that the poisons might have transferred, he eats it, when he fall into a fantasy inside a coma. His crush, Ms. Pacman has been kidnapped be the Ghost king, and in order to save her this plumber will have to travel through the lands of the Cherry kingdom. Will he survive? Only time, will tell….

More chain e-mail anticks. Hey, where are you going?

Yes yes, I know exactly what you are all thinking right now; “Oh fantastic, it seems that Dylan wants to post ANOTHER of those bloody things on his blog now. But wait! There’s more to it! Really!

The backstory is that a new friend who I added named Maddy (a quick note that she said herself that she does NOT believe in any of that stuff or cares to forward it and to this date she has sent me roughly 10 in the space of 2 weeks give or take another week. Thank you, Maddison, for being so honest with me, glad us friends can trust each other like that. Sorry sort of went off on a detour there.) who sent me a chain e-mail (glare) that was all about the love of your life dumping you if you turn it down and something great happening if you forward it, blah blah blah, but anyways the moral of the story is there was a bunch of articles aboot it and one of them was actually pretty funny. It was a poem;

A peach is a peach
A plum is a plum,
A kiss isn’t a kiss
Without some tongue.
So open up your mouth
close your eyes,
and give your tongue
some exercise!!!

So anyways I thought it was my executive decision to post that on here. Most of you with functioning e-mail services have probobly gotten this e-mail as well as I got it from 2 people at the same time, one of which I didn’t even know.

The dangers of suicide

Kids, I am here today to talk about the dangers of suicide. Suicide is bad (mkay), in a general sense. In most cases it ends in death, and so help me god if we find out there will be reprecusions. (deadly reprecusions) In other cases it will end in serious to moderate injury with very few cases coming out unscathed. (continued »)
